RESIDENCE CRACOW RESIDENCE CRACOW
There are cities with rich history and beautiful architecture, but there are only few of them with original centers dated back to XIV century. City of Cracow is one of them – it is among the most beautiful and recommended tourist spots on the European map.
Thus it was a great responsibility and pleasure to work on the design of new residential building located right next to the historical center.
Following many rules and with respect to surrounding architecture, we designed angled facade, underlining the big openings and redirecting light inside, rather than cutting it off. This way, we wanted to bring as much light as possible inside the building. The outcome is elegant and bright, inspired by old original tenement houses located along the street.
As the buildings created over 500 years ago were constructed from local materials, we wanted to use stone and wood exposed on the facade and inside the public areas.
Angled stone blocks reflect light in different way, which make the facade changing over the day and create unique effect. The interiors in contrast, are moody, darker and let visitors to cut off from the vibrant city mood.
There are wellness and spa area located in the basement with swimming pool area smoothly connected with gym. All of those functions are surrounded with natural green walls.
